This is a limited edition of slider cellphone that is available only in China. Carved with dragon designs, the ivory cell phone is limited to just six unit worldwide and costs at over $20,000.
The ivory is harvested from Elephant, Mammoth (?) and camel teeth, taking three engravers over 3 months to make.
The proceeds of ivory cellphone will go towards destroying baby seals using dynamite and AK-47s.
As promised, T-Mobile is going to release the limited editions of Sidekick 3. Last time, they released the limited editions of Sidekick II, Juicy Couture and Mister Cartoon, and this time, the Sidekick 3 will get the Lifted Research Group (LRG) and Diane von Furstenberg designs.
The LRG’s design is the green motif while Diane, who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in June 2005, comes with black and red theme with a few shiny pink on buttons.
Gizmodo’s reader, Abe has got an email response from T-Mobile Sidekick support to confirm that there will be some Limited Edition stuffs in a few weeks. If this is true, then it’s the Sidekick III Limited Editions that will come on October 9th, 2006 with the price of $399 according to the leaked Timeline, posted by Gizmodo last year (see below picture).
