Creative Xmod – Portable X-FI Soundcard
October 9th, 2006
Creative company has introduced Xmod device – the portable X-FI soundcard. The plug-and-play device has the size of a candy.
Creative Xmod connects between stereo speakers and or headphones and either PC, Mac, iPod or any other digital audio sources to create an Xtreat Fidelity sound system.
The fact that there are more than 100 million of people in the world who listen to MP3, WMA or AAC music on their PCs, Macs, iPod, Creative ZEN or other players and Creative Xmod will make them listen to their favorite music with better quality of sounds than CDs.
Creative claims that all X-FI family products can deliver an experience beyond studio quality. Xmod can restore all that compressed data, expanding it to surround sound and intelligently enhancing the highs and lows. All this through the same X-FI 24-bit Crystalizer. The CMSS-3D chip is said to perfectly simulate surround sound even on 2.1 stereo speakers or headphones. Voices are centered in front of the listener and the ambient sound is enhanced in order to appear all around the subject. While listening with the headphones on, Xmod moves the sound away from the listener’s ears and it projects sound waves all around him/her. The headphones can now deliver 9 virtual channels to practically immerse the listener.
Creative Xmod will be available within this October for $79.99.
