Yubi-Wa Ring Phone aka Finger Phone
July 2nd, 2006
Yubi-Wa, the name of the Ring Phone or Finger Phone. It uses the bone conduction technology so that you can use the gadget in a huge crowd to hold a conversation without having any trouble listening to the person at the opposite end. Yubi-Wa Ring Phone is actually a small bluetooth headset in the shape of ring that needed to be connected to your cell phone at maximum ranges of 10 metres if you want to use it.

Just wear it as regular ring on your index finger and insert it into your ear if you wish to talk. The electromotive speaker transmits vibrations through the finger which are in some manner used by the bone of the ear to make sense (the sound is transmited through your bone to your ear). Anyway, the main objective is that it registers the sound clearly and perfectly within the ear without any interference from outside. Similarly you need not scream your voice hoarse if there is too much background noise. Speak softly, the device picks up the vibrations made and the result is a crystal clear conversation.
The Yubi-Wa Finger Phone also uses the “Ubi button” technology that uses movements of the finger to command the device. The ring phone itself is of the size of a tiny egg and weighs just 30 grams, that is comfortable enough to carry around.
NTT DoCoMo demonstrated the Yubi-Wa Ring Phone at the CommunicAsia 2006 last week and it is reported that the bluetooth headset worked within an acceptable quality.
