T-Mobile Sidekick III Review and Lauch Date
June 24th, 2006
Engadget Mobile and Laptop Magazine have got their hands on the upcoming Sidekick III, which will be publicly released on July 10th this year. The Sidekick 3 features a 2.6-inch display (240 x 160 pixels, 65,000 colors), 1.3 megapixel camera, QWERTY keypad, Bluetooth, SD card slot, built-in MP3 player, integrated AIM/MSN/Yahoo Messengers, and 64MB SDRAM/64MB Flash. It measures 5.1 x 2.3 x 0.9 inches (which is about 20% smaller than Sidekick II) and weighs 6.7 ounces.
Now, let’s see the reviews from Engadget Mobile and Laptop Magazine:

Engadget Mobile writes:
Just as the Sidekick II was with the original Sidekick, the Sidekick is at heart just an evolution and enhancement of its predecessor. The big improvements? Bluetooth, a memory card slot, a better camera, more memory, a music player, and a trackball. There haven’t been any major changes in the UI (mainly a few tweaks here and there), and you may or may not like the new keyboard (we liked it, but you’ll just have to try it yourself and see), but the biggest disappointment is the display, which is still a paltry 240 x 160 pixels and still looks sorta washed out to our eyes.
and here’s the conclusion byLaptop Magazine:
As an upgrade, the Sidekick 3 could have been more dramatic. There’s no question, however, that the improved phone function and data service, in addition to the miniSD Card slot and music player, make this the best model in the line yet. The Sidekick 3 is a very good smart phone option for less business-centric users.
While Sidekick 3 will only available to the general public starting July 10th, current T-Mobile customers will be able to upgrade to Sidekick 3 beginning June 28th. Visit sidekick.com for more information.
