July 13th, 2005
More and more China people are overweight nowadays. Recent statistics on China according to BBC News:
The expert said trends among children were the most worrying with 10% of them considered obese.
China has already 90m people out of 1.3bn whose weight is more than 20% in excess of the accepted level.
The main cause of obesity is unhealthy lifestyle – consuming more junk food and lack of exercise. If this situation continues, it is predicted that there will be at least 200 million of obese China people.
On the other hand, there are still many of Chinese who fight against obesity. But yet many of them are taking diet pills or making all efforts when they are not actually overweight! This is only to conform to the stereotypes of slim women which has been a trend in the whole world.
